General Manager – Construction Equipment

Location: Saudi Arabia (Permanent)

Reporting to: Board of Holding Group / Group CEO

Job Reference: JNº062025º6770379

About Our Client

Our client is a highly respected and well-established business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with an umbrella operating structure under a diversified holding group. Whilst of medium size, the business punches far above its weight in reputation, engineering quality, reliability, and after-sales support in the construction equipment industry. With profound roots in the Saudi market and robust relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the company is ready to grow faster and wants to appoint a matured leader to head the construction equipment business.

It is a chance to work closely with the board and senior leadership, to define strategy and drive transformation — not just to implement day-to-day operations.

Role Overview

You will have full ownership of profit & loss (P&L) of the construction equipment business. You will be responsible for end-to-end operations including sales, manufacturing or assembly (as the case may be), service, parts, logistics, and customer support. You will be a senior member of the senior leadership team, contributing to influencing group strategy and driving synergies across other business lines.

Your charge will be to lead sustainable and profitable expansion, grow market share, improve customer satisfaction, and guide the division to operational excellence and innovation.

Key Duties

Strategic Leadership & Business Development

Develop and implement the strategic direction of the construction equipment business, in line with the group’s strategy and financial goals.

Identify fresh business opportunities, either through extension of product lines, geographical expansion of markets, partnerships, or acquisitions.

Follow developments in global and regional construction equipment, technology (e.g. telematics, electrification, automation), competitor actions, and customer needs, and bring them to life in achievable initiatives.

Sales & Marketing

Lead and manage the whole sales function — new equipment, used/refurbished, spare parts, and service contracts.

Establish high but achievable sales objectives by product lines and segments.

Control marketing efforts, product placement, pricing strategy, promotions, and customer segmentation.

Create and manage key accounts, major customers, government agencies, contractors, and infrastructure developers.

Operations & Manufacturing

Manage manufacturing, assembly, or integration operations (if any), cost-effectively, with quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Work with supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management to achieve uninterrupted flow of parts and equipment.

Implement stringent quality control and maintenance of industry standards, certifications, and compliance.

Service, Parts & After Sales

Provide a robust and responsive aftermarket service network — service centers, field service, training, spare parts, warranties.

Monitor and enhance critical service metrics (uptime, mean time to repair, first-time fix rate).

Create parts availability strategies to minimize customer downtime.

Financial Performance & P&L Management

Foster profitable growth: manage costs, margins, capital spending, working capital, and cash flows.

Prepare budgets, forecasts, monthly P&Ls, variance analyses, and corrective actions.

Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to the board and executive management.

People Leadership

Construct, develop, and direct a high-performing leadership team across sales, operations, service, parts, and support functions.

Hire best-in-class talent, clarify roles and responsibilities, set goals, and drive performance.

Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, customer focus, and safety.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Comply with local legislation, environmental and safety requirements, and internal policies.

Identify and define operational and financial risks, and establish mitigation strategies.

Coordinate with regulatory authorities, trade associations, and relevant regulatory bodies.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

Working directly with the board and holding group management: bring strategy proposals, performance reports, investment propositions, risk appraisals.

Developing relationships with OEMs, suppliers, financial institutions, joint venture partners, government customers, and key clients.

Representing the company in industry forums, trade shows, and business councils throughout Saudi Arabia and the region.
