Role Overview
The Director of Laundry Operations is a senior-level executive leadership role, with ultimate responsibility for the management of the organization’s laundry business from end-to-end. This involves:
- Full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for the division
- Oversight of day-to-day operations and production cycles
- Maintaining quality standards and hygiene requirements
- Leading expansion and strategic partnerships
- Managing a large, multicultural team
- This is a position for a candidate who has a combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and commercial expertise, especially in the hospitality, healthcare, or industrial laundry industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
Manage every detail of daily laundry operations, from receiving to washing, drying, ironing, folding, packing, and delivery.
Ensure maximum utilization of machines, preventive maintenance schedules, and workflows.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all shifts and units.
Regularly monitor and enhance productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
This involves collaborating with the engineering, production, logistics, and safety departments to make processes lean and output-driven without affecting quality.
- Financial and P&L Management
Have complete P&L of the division, with financial goals being achieved or surpassed.
Track cost controls, maximize utilization of resources, and optimize operational performance to enhance profit margins.
Create and present monthly/quarterly business performance reports to senior management.
Influence pricing initiatives, cost-per-item reduction, and strategic procurement programs.
This function needs high numeracy, budgeting, and forecasting skills, as well as investment justification for equipment, technology, or personnel.
- Quality Control & Compliance
Establish and execute effective quality assurance procedures, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, garment integrity, hygiene, and packaging.
Enforce health regulation compliance, particularly when working for hospitals or food & beverage businesses.
Establish and track KPIs for quality control, rewash rates, fabric wear, and customer complaints.
Regularly audit and take corrective measures to ensure international standards (e.g., ISO, HAACP where necessary).
This region calls for precision and a zero-tolerance policy against laxity in hygiene and quality, especially for critical customers such as healthcare institutions.

Manage a team of 150+ staff on different shifts or locations.
Set team goals, undertake performance assessments, and determine training requirements.
Ensure sufficient staffing, shift planning, and succession pipelines.
Build a culture of safety, discipline, motivation, and continuous improvement.
Experience of working with big multicultural groups, frequently encompassing blue-collar staff, supervisors, and technical professionals, is necessary.
- Business Development & Client Management
Manage and develop current client relationships (e.g., government, hotels, hospitals).
Develop new business prospects, such as strategic alliances, tenders, and service extensions.
Work in conjunction with the commercial/sales team to prepare competitive proposals.
Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and pricing models actively.
A proactive attitude is essential, with a capability to sense market trends and place the division as a market leader in terms of quality, reliability, and value-added services.
- Strategic Expansion & Innovation
Oversee projects pertaining to facility upgrades, automation, green laundry technology, or new site development.
Investigate and execute innovations like RFID tagging, centralized tracking, and ERP integration.
Place the division for growth by organizing operations in tandem with company Vision 2030 objectives and regional market needs.
Capital planning, ROI analysis, and adoption of technology are involved.
Candidate Profile
Experience Needed
Minimum 10–15 years of proven history in industrial laundry operations.
Previous level of Director, GM, or Senior Manager for a similar business.
Strong knowledge of commercial laundry processes, such as equipment (tunnel washers, dryers, ironers), chemicals, and textile handling.
Hands-on management of P&L ownership and financial reporting.
Proven leadership of groups of 150+ employees.
Experience with quality certifications, audits, and compliance.
Preferred Experience-Good Jobs in Saudi 2025
Background in healthcare laundry, hospitality, or facility management services industry.
Experience within the GCC region, with a good understanding of Saudi market dynamics.
Exposure to global standards of hygiene (e.g., HLAC, ISO 9001, or similar).
Skills & Competencies

Operational excellence – Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen certification would be an asset.
