We are looking for a Head Chef to spearhead an upscale, cutting-edge restaurant venture in Beirut that combines the best of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisines. They have just opened a high-end dining venue in Beirut that serves a sophisticated fusion of Asian-Mediterranean flavors—through mastered technique, freshness of ingredients, and artistic presentation.
With regional expansion plans for the concept, the company is looking for a visionary Head Chef who will drive culinary vision while delivering operational excellence, consistency, and innovation at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
As Head Chef, you will have complete creative and operational authority within the kitchen. From designing the first menu to putting in place best-in-class systems and constructing a dynamic team, you’ll be at the center of establishing the restaurant’s culinary identity and performance.


  • Culinary Leadership & Vision
  • Create a signature menu by combining Mediterranean and Japanese culinary styles with creativity, balance, and seasonal products.
  • Infuse current techniques and plating methods, balancing tradition and innovation.
  • Regularly revise and streamline the menu from guest commentary, trends, and seasonal offerings.
  • Collaborate with ownership and front-of-house management to direct culinary strategy toward brand objectives and customer experience.
  • Kitchen Operations & Management
  • Manage day-to-day kitchen activity, maintaining seamless service, consistency, and quality execution.
  • Create and execute SOPs, sanitation procedures, prep methods, and station layout.
  • Establish solid systems for inventory, cost control, supplier management, and ordering.
  • Manage portion control, wastage, and quality at all levels.
  • Team Building & Culture
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance development of the entire kitchen team—from line cooks and sous chefs to prep and stewarding teams.
  • Establish a kitchen culture focused on discipline, respect, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Regular team briefings, tastings, and culinary workshops with regular skill development and alignment.
  • Lead by example with calm and professional conduct under stress.
  • Strategic Partnership with Ownership
  • Work with the founders and operations staff of the restaurant to assist with brand growth and future culinary direction.
  • Provide input and assistance with expansion planning, new store openings, and concept development in additional markets.
  • Serve as the face of the kitchen when necessary—engaging with VIP customers, media, and partners when needed.

Candidate Profile
This is a position for a seasoned and innovative chef who is as great in the kitchen as he or she is at leading teams, developing systems, and thinking commercially.
Experience & Background

At least 8–10 years of professional culinary experience, with a solid background in both Mediterranean and Japanese cuisines.

Experience opening or operating a high-end restaurant or boutique concept is highly desirable.

Demonstrated history of team leadership, menu development, and kitchen operations management.

Experience in hotels, white-tablecloth restaurants, or higher-end fusion ideas is desirable.

Skills & Attributes

Innovative and artistic, with a sense of style for balancing taste, presentation, and contemporary techniques.

Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to create efficient workflow and handle high-pressure service times.

Ability to develop and guide a high-productivity team, encouraging loyalty and growth.

Commercially conscious, able to manage costs, handle inventory, and operate within budgetary parameters.

Team player and communicator—capable of coordinating with ownership, FOH management, and outside partners.

Language & Cultural Fit

Preferably Arabic-speaking, but English fluency is required.

Culturally versatile and capable of directing in a multinational kitchen setting.
