The Opportunity: Account Manager (Northeast)
This is a home-office-based field sales position with an emphasis on account growth and new business development in the specialty chemicals and oleochemical market segments. As the Northeast Account Manager, you will be the main commercial point of contact for customers in a variety of industries such as personal care, cosmetics, food, agriculture, and pet nutrition.
You will be free to develop and implement your territory plan, with the backing of an internal cross-functional team of technical, marketing, and operations experts. As a Northeast Account Manager, you will be responsible for growing an assigned territory through existing relationships and new client development.
Account Management & Customer Success
Develop and expand a book of key accounts within the specialty and oleochemical market.
Act as a respected consultant to customers, providing customized product solutions according to their specific application requirements.
Deliver superior service and satisfaction by working together with internal teams in production, logistics, and quality control.
New Business Development
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within your territory—especially with businesses operating in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, personal care, food, agricultural, or pet food sectors.
Meet at trade shows, industry conferences, and client locations to expand your professional network and promote the value proposition of the company.
Strategic Sales Planning
Create and execute an overall territory sales plan to boost revenue, customer volume, and market share.
Work with internal partners to coordinate sales plans with company objectives, capacity, and customer needs.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Track industry trends, competitive activity, and customer sentiment to determine opportunities for product development or innovation.
Supply senior leadership with frequent updates, forecasts, and performance reports through CRM and reporting tools.
Collaboration
Collaborate across functions with technical and production groups to create customer-specific solutions and deliver on schedule.
Represent the voice of the customer in the company, giving feedback used to guide future service development and R&D initiatives.

Experience:
- 5–8+ years of technical sales experience in the oleochemicals or specialty chemicals business, with proven ability in both account management and new business development.
- Industry Exposure:
Previous experience in selling into sectors like pharmaceutical, personal care, cosmetics, pet food, food & beverage, or agriculture is strongly desired. - Territory Knowledge:
Living in or near NY, CT, Northern NJ, MD, or DE is best. Will be required to and must be able to travel as much as 50% within the Northeast U.S. for customer calls and events. - Sales Skills:
Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills. Successful track record of closing business and handling complicated sales cycles. - Mindset:
Entrepreneurial attitude with the self-discipline to run your territory as your own company. Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic, proactive approach. - Technical Acumen:
Capability to comprehend customer uses and be able to describe technical characteristics and advantages of chemical products. Chemistry, materials science, or engineering background is desirable but not necessary. - Tech Savvy:
Proficiency with CRM systems, reporting tools, and data analysis.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary:
