As the Sales Leader – Pharmaceutical Market, you will lead the company’s growth initiative in one of its most significant verticals. Your responsibility will be to craft, operate, and grow the pharma-focused go-to-market strategy, spot high-value opportunities, forge deep customer relationships, and ultimately drive revenue through the sale of high-efficiency HVAC and chiller solutions.
This position requires a keen knowledge of both HVAC technology and the business operations of the pharmaceutical sector. Your skills in managing complicated sales cycles, understanding the technical terminology of engineers, and satisfying the requirements of regulated environments will be essential to success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development: Develop and execute a strategic plan for increasing the company’s footprint in the pharmaceutical vertical in North America.
Market Intelligence: Discover industry trends, new technologies, competitive risks, and underserved customer needs in the pharmaceutical HVAC industry.
Sales Execution: Achieve and surpass yearly sales goals with successful pipeline management, opportunity qualification, solution positioning, and closing deals.
Client Engagement: Develop powerful, long-lasting relationships with engineers, procurement staff, facility managers, and executive decision-makers at major pharmaceutical firms.
Industry Visibility: Attend and represent the brand at major pharmaceutical and HVAC trade events, conferences, and networking sessions (e.g., ISPE, INTERPHEX, ASHRAE).
Team Building: Assist in developing and managing a strong-performing, customer-facing sales team dedicated to providing value to the pharmaceutical industry.
Reporting & Analytics: Track and measure sales performance, keep senior management apprised on a regular basis, and make fact-based recommendations for course correction.
Budgeting: Create and administer marketing, travel, and sales budgets for the pharmaceutical vertical.
Required Qualifications
Application consideration requires that candidates have verifiable sales experience selling HVAC/chiller systems into the pharmaceutical market. This is not negotiable.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or related discipline.
MBA or higher degree is preferred but not mandatory.

- 4–10+ years of sales or business development experience working within the HVAC, chiller, or related mechanical systems fields.
- Successful track record of selling into pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.

- Technical Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of chiller technologies, including magnetic bearing, oil-free centrifugal, water- and air-cooled systems.
- Ability to communicate confidently with engineers and discuss intricate HVAC systems.
- Sales Skills:
- Consultative sales methodology with background in handling long sales cycles and big-ticket capital equipment transactions.
Excellent negotiating and presenting capabilities.
Tools & Travel:
Skilled in use of CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
Ability to travel as necessary to see clients and attend events (about 25-50%).
