We’re searching for a builder. An individual willing to assist in shaping the next phase of Control Risks’ Data Analytics development in the Americas. If you excel in entrepreneurial settings and would like to head an expanding, globally networked practice, this is your chance. We are looking for a business-savvy leader to lead the growth and expansion of Control Risks’ Data Analytics practice in the Americas.

The Director will blend strategic business development, client-facing, and analytics-based advisory experience to grow our presence in analytics-facilitated investigations, compliance, and risk advisory.

Business Development & Market Expansion – Originate leads, build pipelines, and go-to-market strategies within target sectors and geographies.
Client Delivery & Advisory – Manage strategic, high-impact engagements that deliver excellence, innovation, and quantifiable results.
Team Leadership & Capability Development – Hire, develop, and expand a high-performing analytics team in the Americas.

The successful candidate has experience developing or expanding consulting practices to serve legal, compliance, and risk functions, preferably in complex, regulated industries like financial services, life sciences, or technology.

Business Development and Practice Growth

Create and implement a commercial plan to grow the Data Analytics practice across strategic sectors.
Drive sales opportunities, proposals, and client presentations to win new mandates.

Develop and sustain senior-level relationships with corporate customers, law firms, and partners.
Work with Markets & Partnerships, Marketing, and regional leaders on go-to-market strategies and thought leadership. Monitor pipeline, revenue, and growth targets in order to achieve annual objectives, operating entrepreneurially in a rapidly changing, lightly structured setting where initiative and tenacity produce results.

Data analytics consulting

Create work plans to gather, collect, aggregate and analyze appropriate data from enterprise data systems to assist clients and advise

Create and implement qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques to find useful trends, red flag activity and optimize operational effectiveness.
Use analytics and technology to discover trends, anomalies, and signs of risk within large complex data sets.
Provide advice to clients and partners on high-profile, complex and multi-jurisdictional cases involving data analytics acumen. Provide leadership by example as a practicing specialist where necessary, using technical and analytical capabilities to enhance project delivery, solve deep data problems, and meet client expectations – showing leadership and accountability for the Americas delivery footprint.

Leadership

Lead and motivate a high-performing, diverse team of multiple geographies, in collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Partner with the Global Discovery + Data Insights leadership group to drive strategy, service offerings, and talent development.
Develop and grow the Americas Data Analytics team: recruiting, developing, and retaining talent to achieve business growth objectives.


Drive culture and operational transformation in the Americas practice, impacting peers and stakeholders to adopt innovation, new delivery strategies, and a growth philosophy.
Mentor and coach young team members to assist them in career advancement and maintain a productive and enjoyable working environment.
Develop clear, consistent communication between teams and stakeholders, maintaining alignment on priorities, progress, and client expectations.

Project management

Ensure timely, high-quality project delivery of sophisticated analytics engagements – controlling scope, budget, and changing client needs with good judgment, flexibility, and a bias for action.
Develop and maintain consistent project management standards and best practices to ensure effectiveness, accountability, and quality in all engagements.
Lead cross-functional teams, such as analytics, legal, and compliance professionals, to provide integrated, end-to-end solutions to client requirements.

Requirements-Latest Analytics Job Washington 2025

Knowledge and experience:

7-9 years of relevant professional experience in the field of consulting, investigations, compliance, or analytics-enabled services with growing responsibility for project delivery, client management, and team leadership.

Proven skill to develop and implement analytics-based solutions in support of investigations, regulatory reviews, or transformational compliance initiatives.
Experience assisting with business development, assisting with proposal, pursuit, and client outreach, with a willingness to continue building commercial and sales leadership capabilities.
Demonstrated capacity to work with multiple stakeholders and collaborate across disciplines to produce high-value results for client.
Solid knowledge of data analytics principles and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python), with the ability to transfer the output of analysis to meaningful insights for customers.
Knowledge of compliance, legal, or investigative environments, e.g., anti-bribery, fraud, AML, sanctions, or wider regulatory regimes.
At ease working in a fast-paced, lightly formalized environment, with an ability to take the initiative, manage ambiguity, and drive forward with minimal supervision.
Ambitious and development-focused, keen to progress to a senior leadership position and assume more commercial and practice-management responsibilities as the Americas practice continues to grow.

Qualifications and specialist skills:

Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in data analytics, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with the potential to distill complex data into actionable insights for clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior stakeholders, clients, and partners.
Demonstrated skill at establishing and developing professional contacts, working effectively across groups, and supporting client development initiatives.
Knowledge of software tools and platforms like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python, not necessarily to use hands-on on a day-to-day basis, but to be comfortable interacting with technical specificity where appropriate.
Business-focused and at ease in client-facing settings, with an emerging interest in business development and go-to-market planning.
Self-motivated individual who excels within a fast-paced, lightly structured environment and can initiate action, pivot quickly, and drive projects forward without continuous oversight.
Proven leadership and team-based abilities, with an emphasis on guiding others and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S. and globally as client demands dictate.

This position will have visibility within the Americas leadership team, and regular interaction with peers in EMEA and APAC. As such there will be an anticipated level of travel time of 20% and regular cadence meetings with EMEA and APAC members of the team.

The minimum base salary for this role in Washington DC, Chicago, and Houston is $170,000-$180,000 annually. The minimum base salary for this role in San Francisco is $175,000-$185,000 annually. Actual compensation provided may differ based on job-related experience, skills, and knowledge.
