Job Overview: Food Server
As a Food Server at InterContinental Bahrain, you will be instrumental in providing outstanding dining experiences that embody the finest standards of service. Across our varied dining outlets—international buffets, fine dining restaurants, lounges, and bars—you will be tasked with ensuring guests have an effortless, comfortable, and individualized dining experience.

Key Tasks-Best Bahrain Hotel Jobs 2025
Warm Guest Interaction: Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism. Escort them to tables, present the menu, and build rapport to create a friendly environment.
Effective Order Management: Take food and drink orders correctly, utilizing POS systems or manual means if necessary. Double-check dietary preferences or needs and make informed suggestions.
Efficient Delivery of Orders: Serve foods and drinks in a timely manner, presented properly and at the right temperature. Work with kitchen and bar staff for smooth delivery.
Maintenance of Dining Area: Ensure clean, tidy, and presented tables and dining rooms prior to, during, and after service. Clear tables quickly and effectively between customers.
Guest Satisfaction: Regularly check in on guests while they are dining to confirm satisfaction. Deal with guest complaints or concerns in a professional manner and escalate issues where appropriate.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with chefs, bartenders, hosts, and other servers to ensure smooth operation and service standards.
Compliance & Safety: Implement all food safety and hygiene guidelines in accordance with IHG standards and Bahraini law. Attend regular training and audits as necessary.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Past experience as a waiter/waitress, server, or food & beverage attendant in a luxury hotel, fine dining establishment, or high-end hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Experience handling POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash/credit card transactions.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while being composed and professional.
- Soft Skills & Attributes:
- Naturally warm, friendly, and extrovert personality.
- Affinity for hospitality and interest in providing outstanding guest service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic or other languages is an added advantage.
- Well-groomed, punctual, and presentable at all times.
- Proactive with the capacity to foresee the needs of the guest and go beyond them.
- Flexible and adaptable to various styles of services (buffet, à la carte, room service, etc.).

A Typical Day in the Role
Your shift may start with a briefing from the restaurant manager, where you’ll learn about any VIP guests, menu changes, or special promotions. You’ll then set up your station, ensuring everything is immaculate. As guests arrive, you’ll welcome them with confidence, recommend dishes, and ensure they have an exceptional meal.
Between service periods, you’ll reset tables, polish glassware, and prepare for the next wave of guests. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues during busy moments to keep service flowing smoothly.
