Role Summary
You will serve as General Manager – IT and Digitalization, bringing strategic direction and operational control over the entire range of IT and digital capabilities to the organization. You will have charge of a team of more than 100+ IT professionals, covering enterprise IT, operational technology (OT), SAP systems, digital platforms, cyber security, and data management.
You will be tasked with creating and implementing a multi-year digital transformation strategy, driving business performance through the use of cutting-edge technologies, and positioning IT to support the company’s long-term strategy.
You will be reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will be a senior advisor to the leadership team on matters related to technology and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Transformation
Craft and execute an end-to-end digitalization plan that combines IT and OT, tied to organizational aspirations and Vision 2030 requirements.
Lead company-wide digital transformation, such as automation, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and IoT (Internet of Things).
Provide a multi-year digital strategy that facilitates business agility, improves process efficiency, and facilitates data-driven decision-making.
IT Operations & Enterprise Architecture
Manage all IT aspects ranging from infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity to data centers, cloud computing, and user support.
Guarantee ongoing improvement, high availability, and resilience for IT operations.
Operate, optimize, and maximize the use of the SAP S/4HANA ERP environment, including integration with production and finance systems.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Develop and implement a secure cybersecurity program, securing key industrial assets and information.
Ensure compliance with national and international data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NCA, ISO/IEC 27001).
Organize governance structures for risk management, IT service delivery, and vendor compliance.
Talent Development & Nationalization
Direct, mentor, and motivate a top-performing IT organization of more than 100 employees, including sub-organizations of digital transformation, IT operations, and SAP.
Prioritize the development of Saudi national talent, coaching future leaders, and creating a robust internal succession pipeline in accordance with Saudization goals.
Develop a robust performance culture with well-defined KPIs and accountability at every level.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work as a strategic business partner to business unit leaders, assisting them to use technology to address issues, optimize processes, and increase value delivery.
Enable change management between functions in order to facilitate the use of digital tools and practices.
Regularly inform executive leadership of digital initiative progress, IT performance, and new technologies.
The Ideal Candidate
The preferred candidate should possess a combination of visionary leadership, hands-on delivery, technical expertise, and business experience. They should have an established history of driving successful digital transformation programs for complex systems and large IT teams across industrial environments.
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related.
- Master’s degree or MBA is desired and will be considered as a plus.
Experience
More than 20 years of overall professional experience in IT and digitalization, with at least 10 years of senior leadership experience.
Extensive experience in heading large, complex IT organizations, preferably from petrochemical, manufacturing, or industrial backgrounds.
Track record of delivering digital transformation programs, with adoption of new technologies (e.g., SAP, AI, analytics, industrial automation).
In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, including implementation, customization, integration, and change management.
Experience of managing multi-million-dollar budgets, vendor partners, and technology investments.
Robust understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and regulation.
Leadership & Soft Skills–
Visionary style of leadership with potential to inspire and influence throughout the organization.
Excellent stakeholder management — capable of talking to CEOs, board members, regulators, and plant-level managers as easily as anyone.
Good communication skills to explain complex technical ideas in simple business terms.
Innovative spirit, technology, and continuous improvement passion.
