Your Role: Classroom Teacher-Qatar best School Jobs 2025
As a Classroom Teacher, you will have a significant role in leading students through their learning process based on the British Columbia curriculum, instructional methods, and assessment techniques. Your mission is to ensure that all students make meaningful progress in a differentiated and supportive learning environment.
The position entails both pedagogical strength and a collaborative spirit, with duties spilling over into school-wide activities, family involvement, and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Planning

Develop, prepare, and teach stimulating lessons in conformance with the BC Ministry of Education Learning Standards, utilizing school-recommended instructional templates.

Implement annual, unit, weekly, and daily lesson plans to meet varied learning requirements, helping students realize curriculum outcomes.

Tailor instruction to suit learner learning styles, capabilities, and language requirements to optimize individual learning.

Assessment & Reporting

Employ a variety of formative and summative evaluations (Assessment For, Of, and As Learning) to track and facilitate student development.

Offer timely and clear feedback to parents and students through evidence-based assessment practices.

Prepare formal report cards and conduct parent-teacher conferences on scheduled reporting days.

Refer and support students who need extra academically-focused interventions, as necessary, to the School Support Program.

Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that is conducive to the school’s Code of Conduct.

Fairly and consistently manage student behaviour to foster responsibility and self-discipline.

Oversee students during class periods, transitions, and school-approved activities on and off campus.

Enrichment & Extra-Curricular Participation

Coordinate or sponsor enrichment activities such as field trips, concerts, plays, productions, and school showcases.

Develop student creativity and community service outside of the classroom.

Support and direct after-school programs and activities where needed.

Collaboration & Professional Development

Join weekly collaboration meetings and grade-level team planning to improve student success and instructional uniformity.

Attend and participate in staff meetings, school development days, and curriculum planning sessions.

Join ongoing professional development, such as sessions planned by the school and mandated by the BC Offshore Program.

Community & Communication

Maintain good and professional relationships with parents, updating them on weekly lesson summaries, behaviour, and student progress.

Communicate respectfully and clearly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.

Show sensitivity towards local Qatari culture and undertake to promote mutual respect and understanding throughout the school community.

Additional Responsibilities

Look after children at end of day dismissal until collected (usually 20-30 minutes after class time).

Administer entry assessments for new students during peak seasons (Jan–June, Sept–Oct); 3–4 per week might be necessary during the busiest months.

Fill in classes as needed for unexpected staff absences (addendum: a full-time substitute teacher is provided).

Attend a maximum of eight Saturday School sessions per year, as scheduled.

Perform other related tasks as directed based on school needs and teacher level of experience.

Working Hours

Official Hours: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Class Start Time: 7:00 AM

Class End Time:

K2: 1:10 PM

Grades 1–7: 2:05 PM

Grades 8–12: 2:15 PM

Teachers should stay with their students until the pickup time (20–30 mins).

Weekly Collaboration Meetings: Every week from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (attendance is mandatory).

Additional Meetings: Parent conferences for students at risk may take place after official working hours.

Candidate Requirements
Mandatory

Availability to obtain British Columbia teacher certification at the earliest possible time following the receipt of the offer.

Willingness to accept responsibility for submitting all necessary documentation in a timely fashion to support certification.

Recognizing that ongoing employment will depend on successful certification.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or teaching discipline.

Proven track record of effective instruction through use of BC curriculum, or strong desire to learn and apply it.

Preferred-

BC Teacher Certification (or eligibility for it within a specified time period).

Experience teaching the British Columbia curriculum or in an international school environment.

Experience teaching ELL students and heterogeneous classrooms.

Skill in using technology to support teaching and learning.

Culturally responsive pedagogy and international-mindedness.
