About Admiral Careers-UK Job for Big Data Analyst 2025
Data underpins every decision we make at Admiral. From informing the development of our motor products to enhancing our digital experiences, it fuels our ability to understand customers, optimize business performance, and define strategic direction. For over 30 years, Admiral has built its reputation as one of the UK’s most trusted and innovative financial services companies-and we’ve done it by giving curious minds the freedom to question assumptions and find better ways of doing things.
We are proud to be continuously recognized as a Great Place to Work and ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing and for Women. Our people-first philosophy drives everything we do: we celebrate individuality, nurture growth, and believe the best insights come from diverse perspectives.
If you are naturally curious, passionate about data, and driven by the prospect of informing significant business decisions, here is your chance to be part of our Motor Product Insight team as a Technical Senior Data Analyst.
About the Team
The Motor Product Insight team is crucial to Admiral; a blend of analytical expertise and commercial understanding, this team produces actionable insight that shapes our products and customer experience. Our analysts work with a wide range of data from internal and external sources-from policy and claims data, right through to third-party datasets-to uncover patterns, test hypotheses, and provide strategic guidance to senior leaders.
We work in close collaboration with departments such as Motor Product, Price Comparison, and Ancillaries, ensuring that insights flow across the business and directly inform key decisions. As Admiral continues to evolve in a data-driven world, we’re investing in new tools, technologies, and analytical approaches-and we’re looking for talented individuals who can help lead this transformation.
The Role
As a Technical Senior Data Analyst, you will be much more than a data specialist: you will act as a bridge between data and strategy, interpret complex information, identify trends, and provide recommendations that shape the future of Admiral’s motor products. You’ll work collaboratively with other analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders, ensuring our reporting and analytical processes remain efficient, accurate, and insightful.
This role will involve hands-on technical work, along with leadership and mentorship. You will be expected to guide junior analysts, promote best practices in reporting and analysis, encourage a culture of continuous improvement, and lead by example. Curious, detailed, and an effective communicator, you will be an influential voice across the business.
Responsibilities
Be an internal consultant: Using your analytical skills, you advise departments on how best to use data and insights to solve problems, improve processes, and identify new opportunities.
Lead complex analytics projects: Own large-scale projects or technically challenging pieces of work from scoping through data extraction, analysis, and presentation of results.
Mentor and develop others: Provide coaching, guidance, and support to junior analysts, helping to build their technical and analytical skills. Contribute to the onboarding of new team members and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Reporting tool management and improvement: Manage our suite of reports and dashboards, ensuring they remain efficient, accurate, and aligned with stakeholder needs. Identify opportunities to automate and enhance current processes.
Champion innovation: Keep up-to-date on emerging technologies, new analytical methodologies, and industry standards. Share insights with the team and identify ways to apply them to business challenges.
Engage with stakeholders, developing effective working relationships with internal teams and senior managers to understand their objectives. Provide analytical solutions to drive value.
Institute continuous improvement: Periodically review processes, flush out bottlenecks, and implement changes that further enhance efficiency and quality of output.
Contribute to business strategy: Translate findings from analysis into meaningful recommendations that help shape decisions on pricing, customer retention, and profitability.
Represent the team: Serve as a point of contact for projects and initiatives crossing departments. Present findings to stakeholders clearly, accurately, and with impact.
Skills and Experience Required-UK Job for Big Data Analyst 2025
You’ll bring both technical capability and commercial awareness in equal measure. You are confident working with a variety of data tools, and comfortable distilling insights for non-technical audiences.

Proficiency in Google BigQuery and Looker, or equivalent BI/reporting technologies.
Strong SQL skills with experience in extracting, transforming, and optimising data.
Ability to interpret numerical data and translate complex results into actionable recommendations.
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, including confidence in challenging and influencing senior management.
Proactive, with an inquisitive nature that questions the status quo and seeks out new ideas.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
